The Prospect Search and Rescue Unit of Jackson County is holding its 18th annual Prospect Fly-In at the Prospect Airport, Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th, 2007. There will be our usual open air Steak and Chicken BBQ on Saturday at the airport starting at approximately 1730 hours (5:30 p.m.). This year we are planning on serving Egg, Ham and Hash Browns and Pancake Breakfast right at the airport on Sunday morning. All of this for $20 per person donation ($10 for children 6 to 12). If unable to join us for dinner on Saturday, come and join us for Breakfast on Sunday morning which will be from 0600 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for only $6.00 per person.

This is a FUN event ... generally 75 to 80 planes (both antique and modern) arrive for the two day event from all parts of Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho... and Colorado.

In past years planes included, (in 1998) a 1946 Fairchild 24W owned by Larry Beck, Camby, Oregon, "Grand Champion" entry at the 1996 Oshkosh, Wisconsin International Air Show ... also, the new Piper Malibu Corporate Jet from Sun River Corp ... the Turbo Prop put down on the 4,000 ft. lighted runway at Prospect Airport.

There are lots of Super Cruisers in the lineup of planes, these are most sought after by the Bush Pilots.

Walt Ridge, Mgr at Prospect State Airport, indicated nine planes arrived for the 4th of July weekend as part of a ten day tour organized through Park West Tours, Denver, Colorado. The group has toured several points of interests, various nationals parks and in our region, they toured Crater Lake National Park ... the group of planes will leave Monday morning (July 7) for their next stop on the tour, which is Coeur d' alene, Idaho.

Both Flyers and Non-Flyers are WELCOME to participate in the the Prospect Fly-In!

Bring chairs and your camera ... it's very exciting and fun to watch the planes arrive and visit with the pilots!

This annual event is a fundraiser for the

Prospect Unit, Jackson County Search & Rescue.
